FEDMA hosted yesterday its first one-day postal workshop that provided professionals with crucial knowledge on the latest and future developments of the postal industry at the EU level.

The FEDMA workshop was hosted in response to popular demand from our members, as the upcoming liberalisation of the postal sector left some direct mailers unsure of the changes and the effects the liberalisation can have on the industry - both the threats and opportunities.

FEDMA’s workshop brought together key players in the wider postal sector. The workshop attracted a very high calibre of speakers including Joerg Schneider from Deutsche Post Adress; Bodo Mann an expert on the European Postal Sector; Tim Walsh from Pitney Bowes; and Matthew Neilson, the Royal Mail expert on environmental issues.

Participants were encouraged to share their views, knowledge and experiences in an open setting and the number of participants was limited to ensure a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.

Tickets sold out in days and success of the workshop was reflected by the enthusiastic response to the event; “We are delighted by the positive response to this, our first postal workshop”, said Alastair Tempest, Director General of FEDMA.

FEDMA will continue to host both postal and other workshops and seminars in 2008.
